Over the last few months, together with Electrolux, we have adapted the global Electrolux Vac from the Sea campaign, to a local version – collecting plastic rubbish of local beaches in Auckland, and turning them into a limited edition vacuum cover, designed exclusively by Starfish.
Globally Electrolux’s Vac from the Sea campaign sees plastic debris gathered from vulnerable marine habitats, and produced into limited edition vacuums, the campaign is designed to raise public awareness about the plastic waste that fills our oceans, and the short supply of sustainable recycled plastic through a colourful and compelling campaign.
Liz has named the New Zealand edition of Vac from the Sea, Miss E Lux, and although she likes to think of it as her first born – Miss E Lux will eventually be heading to Stockholm to join her ‘cousin vacuums’, although not before she travels New Zealand for something special in a few months time…keep your eyes peeled!
The joint-venture between Electrolux and Starfish was softly introduced at New Zealand Fashion Week, where the show began with girls vacuuming the Starfish runway with new Electrolux Green Vacuums.
The bare.pr and Electrolux teams, were lucky enough to attend the show, and even got a front row seat for the New Zealand Vac from the Sea, aka. Miss E Lux.
The New Zealand edition of the Vac from the Sea will be officially launched to the public in weeks to come, but to see Miss E Lux’s journey so far, check out our VERY COOL youtube video.
